The Body Project
Striving for the “perfect body”? Maybe it’s time to change your mind, not your body!
The Wellness Center is teaming up with the Rice Counseling Center to pilot The Body Project,
a four-session group program aimed at helping women improve their self esteem. This evidence-based program
has been shown to not only improve body image, but also decrease unhealthy weight loss practices, as well
as promote a decrease in future onset of obesity.
This small group (max 10 participants) will be facilitated by a psychologist and dietitian. We will meet weekly for four weeks, and it is important that participants attend all four sessions. Participants will be asked for their feedback on this new program, and their progress will be monitored as well. Those participating will be eligible for up to $20 in wellness bucks, which can be used for wellness center services!
